Empowering Communities. Healing Survivors. Building Better Futures.
At the Divine Empowerment Network (DEN), as a veteran-led nonprofit, our mission is to provide the knowledge, resources, and support necessary to help inner city Chicago and Suburban Cook County residents achieve financial independence and growth. We walk alongside youth and adults impacted by violence, providing wraparound support, career training, and community-based mentorship that turns pain into purpose and builds lasting stability.
DEN Programs
& Services
Through integrated youth development, economic stabilization, and workforce training services, Divine Empowerment Network engages residents and veterans through mentoring, workshops, and community based activities that promote healing, skill building, and long term opportunity. Participants are supported with job readiness and career training, violence prevention wraparound services, housing and homeownership pathways, veterans benefits navigation, and access to resources that strengthen stability and support lasting future success.
Youth Development & Mentorship
We support youth impacted by community and gun violence through trauma informed mentoring, life skills development, and positive peer engagement. Youth are connected to trusted mentors who provide guidance around emotional regulation, conflict resolution, academic encouragement, and leadership development. This service creates safe, supportive spaces where young people can heal from trauma, build confidence, and develop pathways toward positive identity and long term success.
Economic Development & Violence Prevention
Wraparound
Our team addresses the root causes of violence by stabilizing individuals and families experiencing trauma, housing instability, and economic hardship. Participants receive coordinated case management, emergency assistance, housing support, transportation, food access, legal advocacy navigation, and referrals to behavioral health services. By reducing immediate stressors and meeting basic needs, this service promotes safety, healing, and long term stability as a core violence prevention strategy.
Workforce & Career Training
DEN uses employment as a proven violence prevention tool by connecting youth and adults impacted by violence to job readiness training, paid work experiences, and career pathways. Participants receive resume support, interview preparation, soft skills coaching, and referrals to employment and workforce partners. These services are delivered alongside wraparound supports to remove barriers and help participants achieve sustainable economic mobility and reduced exposure to high risk environments.
We are not just a nonprofit. We are a network of resources and support…
We recognize that true impact goes beyond the surface, which is why we focus on delivering robust support systems, transformative educational initiatives, and personalized guidance that foster holistic growth and prosperity. From offering essential support services to providing educational opportunities that unlock potential, our aim is to create lasting change from within.
“At DEN, our commitment goes beyond the basics. We are dedicated to equipping veterans, as well as residents of Chicagoland and Suburban Cook County, to achieve better, more productive lives. Through the transformative power of education and mentorship, we aim to create positive change from within, revitalizing communities and empowering individuals to reach their fullest potential.”
